Keeping The Sabbath In Outer Space

The Columbia was a shuttle which tore apart when reentering the atmosphere, resulting in the death of its seven passengers. One of the people on this shuttle was Jewish and had spent some time prior to going into space trying to determine how he would keep the Sabbath in outer space. It was very important to him to continue keeping God's commandments in all situations. Is it important to us?
